by George Grasse

HINCHCLIFFE HCG037 Austrian Cannon and ANDREA AN7s02 French Train d'Artillerie de Ligne, 3rd Swiss Regiment d'Infanterie c. 1809

THE CANNON

This is the representation of the Austrian artillery in yellow ochre for wood and black iron for metal.  It was in this condition when turned over to the French after the Austerlitz campaign.

This is the Austrian 6-pounder cannon refinished in French artillery green.  The cannon sits on the Andrea Miniatures limber to which a six-horse gun team will be attached.  Napoleon re-introduced cannon companies to each line infantry regiment including the Swiss regiments.
