BEGINNINGS: The first few assembly steps are quite simple as shown is this photo. The step-by-step guide generally shows at each step a photo of the part(s) followed by photos of the their location and, usually, a note to observe while gluing the part(s). I probably spent more time "grinding" on the my 36" belt sander, trimming with my X-Acto knife, and sanding with various pieces of sandpaper. At the stage of assembly shown above, the instructions suggest gluing the trunion caps but I left them off during the whole assembly process for ease of priming and painting later. |

DETAIL PARTS - LEFT SIDE VIEW: Most of the parts are added at this stage. Note that the barrel assembly is upside down in its cradle! Where ever flimsy resin rod is used, I replaced it with brass rod. The towing hook was also replaced with a hand-made hook. |

MAIN CARRIAGE WHEELS: Most of my early recollection of viewing World War 1 artillery has to do with the enormously funny-looking wheels on the heavy artillery pieces. Now I get the opportunity to build them! At first glance, the delicate resin wheels and rims seem rather flimsy. The photo-etched spoke sets don't lend themselves to confidence in supporting this heavy resin model. However, to my surprise, and with a little on-the-job-training regarding the assembly, the wheel set is surprisingly strong. |

FULLY ASSEMBLED: There are a few small, delicate parts not added to the model in the photo above but it is essentially finished and ready for priming. |
