Prince Poniatowski was the political and military leader of the Polish state known as The Duchy of Warsaw. Since 1808, Polish troops had fought alongside of France, and several of their regiments were incorporated into the French Army. A substantial portion formed a large Corps d'Armee under Poniatowski who was made a French Marechal de France on the eve of the great battle of Leipzig in 1813. Befitting a leader of such stature, Poniatowski formed a large escort termed Guides of Poniatowski who functioned much like Napoleon's Chasseurs � cheval de la Garde. |

CONVERSION KITS - Series 752 provides for the major ranks of the Guides de Poniatowski. Each kit has extra arms so the modeler can alter the appearance. They wore the aiguillette on the left shoulder befitting their attachment to Poniatowski's General Staff as escorts. |
