Note: Members of this regiment appear in the above image, background center. The Regiment de Garde Nationale was issued a standard and considered members of the Old Guard. They were created on 1 January 1810 to serve as 1) a posting honor for the reserve Gardes Nationales and 2) as replacement to Napoleon's Old and Middle Guard regiments. They were absorbed into the 7e Regiment de Voltigeurs de la Garde on 15 February 1813. The two "economy" kits HXH002 and HXH003 each can make one of two types and they are shown separately below. All kits represent the regiment 1810 - 1813. |

GARDE IMPERIALE REGIMENTS DE LES FLANQUERS 1811-1814

||
Note: This kit will make either an NCO or soldier of either one of the two regiments of Flanquers: Flanquers-Grenadiers or Flanquers-Chasseurs. Their purpose was to guard the front and flanks of Grenadiers and Chasseur regiments of the Imperial Guard. Both regiments were raised on 4 September 1811 although Digby Smith only gives "1811" for the Flanquers-Chasseurs. Each had two battalions probably organized along the standard French infantry battalion of six companies which may have included one grenadier, one voltigeur, and four fusilier companies (although these names are not known for sure). |
