• ALLOWANCES - Historical Miniatures makes provision for certain allowances which can be deducted from the painted price of all figures.  If you supply your own figure, you may deduct the kit price for that figure as displayed on HM's website.  For example, the painted price of a figure is listed as $100.00; the kit price for that figure is listed as $15.00.  Your net painted price is $85.00 if you supply the figure.  Allowance is also made if you provide a base on which you would like the figure mounted.  All HM painted figures are priced to include a polished walnut 1" high base.  If you supply a base, you may deduct 4% from the painted price of the figure.  Using our example above for the $100.00 painted figure list price, your net would be $96.00 if you supply the base.  In the same example, if you supply both the kit and the base, your net painted price would be $81.00.  See also "CUSTOMER FURNISHED MATERIAL".

• PRICING OF MINIATURES - Historical Miniatures offers hand-painted, museum-quality figures by George Grasse in all collector scales 54mm and larger. All miniatures are sold through Price Lists provided by Historical Miniatures. Painted miniature prices, designated in the listing by the column headed "PAINTED", include the painted miniature, price of the miniature casting, and a custom-made walnut base. Unpainted kit prices, designated in the listing by the column headed "KIT ONLY", is the price of the unpainted, unassembled figure casting kit. If you supply your own figure casting to be painted, the painted price you pay is the "PAINTED" price minus the "KIT ONLY" price.

• POSTAGE AND SHIPMENT - Historical Miniatures groups its products into Painted Miniatures, Merchandise (kits and supplies), and Reference Materials (books and plates). There are three shipping "categories" consisting of the 1) the United States and its possessions, 2) Canada and Mexico, and 3) "all others". All items are shipped U.S. First Class Priority Mail.  All others are shipped "at cost" depending on your chosen method of shipment (air or surface).  Additional charges for customer-requested delivery beyond the allowances defined above will be quoted. • CUSTOMER-FURNISHED MATERIAL - For customers who supply their own figures to be painted, you many deduct no more than the "KIT ONLY" price shown on the appropriate Historical Miniatures Price List. If you supply your own base, you may deduct 2% from the "PAINTED" price before deducting for the casting, if any.  See also "ALLOWANCES".

• VIRGNIA SALES TAX - Merchandise shipped to a Virginia address will be charged the current Virginia State Sales Tax.

• CREDITS & DISCOUNTS - From time to time, Historical Miniatures will notify you of an account credit balance or one-time discounts that you can apply it to your next order.  See also Customer Furnished Material.

• GUARANTEE - Historical Miniatures guarantees satisfaction or a full refund on return of the figure in good condition. This guarantee expires in 30 days from your receipt of the miniature unless circumstances warrant additional time. Simply return the miniature in good condition stating that a refund is requested. On receipt of the returned miniature in good condition, a refund check will be sent to you.

• DAMAGE AND RETURNS - If you receive a miniature in damaged condition, write down the circumstances of the receipt including condition of the package and its contents. Call or write for advice on returning the merchandise. Historical Miniatures will pay for the return of damaged goods.

• METHOD OF PAYMENT - Payment must be made in U.S. funds by money order or personal check in advance. Bank charge cards are not accepted at this time. DO NOT SEND CASH! Foreign customers: note that all orders must be prepaid by INTERNATIONAL DRAFT payable in U.S. dollars. If you wish to use PayPal, we will accept payment however you must add 5% to the order.

• COMMISSION WORK - Individual figures, vignettes, and dioramas can be created to your specifications. All concepts are quoted complete with a detailed cost estimate and appropriate sketches/diagrams. To prevent damage, vignettes and dioramas are shipped with some components disassembled. Assembly instructions are provided.

• COMPLETION OF WORK - Completed miniatures are not stocked but are painted to order exclusively by Mr. Grasse. From the time of order to shipment takes eight to ten weeks, depending on availability of the casting and the current queue. Expedited orders may be completed sooner if time and circumstances permit. However, a premium is charged for an expedited order.

• CANCELLATION OF COMMISSION WORK - If the customer cancels a commissioned order and abandons all material (kit or kits), the customer will be charged 100% of the estimated completion of the labor in the project plus 50% of the retail price of the kit(s). If the customer cancels a commissioned order but wishes to take delivery of the kits on which some work has been performed, the customer will be charged 100% of the estimated completion of the labor component in the project plus 100% of the retail price of the kit(s). Kits and materials for a project that have not been used are subject to a restocking charge (see below).

• RESTOCKING CHARGE - Any merchandise returned by the customer or any merchandise (kits and material) used in a cancelled commissioned project is subject to a 20% restocking charge based on the retail price of the item(s). Such returns from the customer must be received in unused condition. Postage to return such items is paid by the customer.

• DESCRIPTION OF MINIATURES - Miniatures are cast in a number of mediums by manufacturers in the United States, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Unless specified otherwise, all miniatures are cast in lead or a white metal alloy, which accounts for about 75% of all miniatures; 20% are cast in resin; the remaining 5% are injection molded plastic. All miniatures are obtained in kit form and cleaned of mold lines, assembled, polished, and primed before painting can begin. Miniatures are mounted on custom-made walnut bases made especially for Historical Miniatures. These bases are available for sale. See "ALLOWANCES" above if you wish to supply your own base. Uniforms, weapons, and equipment are well researched. Mr. Grasse consults two or more reputable sources contained in his reference library to assure an accurately detailed and painted miniature. All miniatures are hand painted by Mr. Grasse using the finest artist oils, enamels, and water soluble paint products. All miniatures are serialized numbered editions.

• MINIATURE SCALES - Miniature scales are expressed in millimeters in the format "54mm", "75mm", etc. Collectible scales range from 54mm to 175mm. In general, as the scale increases from 54mm, availability decreases. The following table compares millimeter scale heights to their approximate decimal- inch heights.
