• I have unpainted castings of my own and wonder if you will paint these for me? HM will paint them for you at the "painted" price less the listed "kit" price plus shipping charges.

• A figure in my collection is damaged. Can you repair it? If the figure was painted by Mr. Grasse, we'll repair it. Just contact us for a quote and instructions; otherwise, HM can't help you. Sorry.

• There once was a figure . . . . .is it still available? - There is a "secondary market" for out-of-production kits but you'll have to search the web to find them or you can visit a model show. Anything of that nature held by HM is for sale in "The Attic".

• Are resin figures the same as metal figures? Resin is as good as metal as a casting medium. The only difference is weight which affects the cost of the unpainted figure, metal being more expensive. So, it's a matter of your  preference.

• I couldn't find a certain manufacturer in your price lists but I know they're still in production? We can obtain most kits and the ones we don't list a not regularly stocked due to distribution problems.  Contact us about your request and we'll let you know.

• How long will it take to get a figure painted? The queue is about 8 weeks for a painted figure.

• What is your guarantee and return policy? Take a look at those topics under "Terms and Conditions" in the Order Section.

• Do you trade painted figures or kits? Sorry, not interested in trading.

• What's the best way to take care of painted figures? Keep painted figures under glass such as a curio cabinet, glass dome, or acrylic case. If you have to dust them, use a perfectly clean brush with soft bristles.

• I don't have time to view all of the listings. Can I order hard copy printouts of your price lists? No, the website is the best and most cost-effective way. See the following section on "How to Find Products".
  

HOW TO FIND PRODUCTS

Products for sale appear on a number of different lists.  For miniatures, either painted by George Grasse or sold in kit form, you need to visit one of two sections.  If you know the manufacturer, it's best to go to "Featured Products".  If you prefer to see all of the manufacturers for a given period, you need to visit "Historical Periods".  Most of the products will be presented in a full-color, catalog format.  Each miniature has two prices shown and to understand what these prices mean, you need to visit "Explanation of Prices Displayed".  In other cases, some manufacturers that we carry do not have full-color catalogs on our website for a number of reasons; so, we simply list these figures in the appropriate Historical Periods section.  Eventually, they will conform to the "manufacturers" format whether or not we have photos.

Supplies are found in the "Supply Section" and include paints, brushes, fillers, and more.  Books that have to do with uniforms are found in the "Reference Materials" section.

Other items for sale are found in "The Attic" and usually consists of overstock and miscellaneous items.  These items are typically shipped at cost plus packaging.   We recommend that you send email for Attic items so that we can hold them for you and tell you what the total order cost will be..

HOW TO ORDER PRODUCTS

First, you need to visit the Mail Order Form page and review how to fill it out.  At various places on the form, you can double-click for further information.  Second, you need to print the form.   Third, from the various product lists and pages reviewed on the website, you can enter the order information onto the mail order form.  Fourth, you need to calculate the total order amount (again, review the Mail Order Form screen), prepare a check or money order payable to "Historical Miniatures" in U. S. funds, and mail it to us or send email.

WHAT ABOUT SHIPPING?

All painted miniatures have a flat 6% shipping charge.  This covers shipping and special packaging to insure your figure arrives safely.  More often than not, painted figures have parts that are processed in a way that allows them to be shipped detached from the figure to be assembled on arrival.  This requires more special packaging.

All other products are shipped based on our postal rate table.  You have to know your postal zone code and the order sub total in order to calculate shipping charges.  Items show on the postal rate table "at cost" require that you send us email about your order and we will determine the actual shipping costs.  This applies to Attic and foreign orders. 

• What is your rating system for used books? In general, used books are rated as to their physical condition only and using the following system: excellent (near mint condition), very good (minor wear and tear), good (normal wear and tear), and poor (damaged or missing components as explained). Condition of the dust jacket is always given except for softcover books which usually dont't have one.

• How are books shipped and what does it cost?. All books are shipped book rate in the US and its possessions, and surface mail for all other destinations. Click here to review Postal Rates.
